Presidential Scholars

Recipients of Illinois Institute of Technology’s top transfer scholarship, the Presidential Scholarship, gathered to celebrate the 2015 graduating class on Monday, May 11, at Tech Park for a lunch banquet.

Fifty-eight Presidential Scholars either graduated in December 2014 or are graduating this May or August with bachelor’s degrees or co-terminal master’s degrees. This is the third graduating class of Presidential Scholars since the award was started in 2010 as a partnership between Illinois Tech, the City Colleges of Chicago and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College on the island of St Lucia. Scholars graduating this year transferred from these institutions along with several Chicago suburban community colleges, Miami-Dade Community College, Montgomery College (MD), Community College of Philadelphia, Georgia Perimeter College, Edmonds Community College (WA), South Puget Sound Community College, Taylor’s College (Malaysia), and community colleges on the islands of Grenada and Antigua.

At this time, Presidential Scholar graduates will be working for employers such as Google, Goldman Sachs, CBD Architects, Griskelis Young Harrell, McShane Construction, HBK Engineering, dbHMS, Navistar, General Electric, Chicago Transit Authority, and Jernberg. Scholars continuing their education to complete advanced degrees will be attending schools such as Washington University School of Medicine, Bentley University, and Saint Louis University.

Congratulations to the 2015 Presidential Scholars graduating class.
