Attend Federal Grants Seminar

The Paul V. Galvin Library, the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Office of Research Compliance and Proposal Development and the IIT Chicago-Kent Law Library are sponsoring the “Everything You Want To Know About Grants.Gov” workshop for IIT faculty and staff at noon on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in the Galvin Library Learning Center located on the lower level of Galvin Library and the IIT Chicago-Kent Law Library located in the Boardroom (Room 800) on the Downtown Campus.

Federal funding announcements for research opportunities are government documents. This seminar will teach attendees how to access grant documents quickly and efficiently. Grants.gov is the federal government’s online portal. All 26 federal grant-making agencies post grant funding opportunities on the grants.gov portal for applicants to find and apply for those opportunities. Faculty should become familiar with how to find funding opportunities that match interests and how to apply for those opportunities.

The workshop will include an online webinar (which will be conducted by the officials who manage the grants.gov website) as well as include staff from the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Office of Research Compliance and Proposal Development, the Galvin Library and IIT Chicago-Kent Law Library who will answer any questions.

Department heads are encouraged to have staff members attend so they can help faculty search for research funding opportunities. To sign up, email Mariam Othman at mothman@iit.edu. Seating is currently limited to 15 seats. However, arrangements will be made for overflow/alternate areas if needed to accommodate others.
