Attend Federal Grants Seminar

The Paul V. Galvin Library, the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Office of Research Compliance and Proposal Development and the IIT Chicago-Kent Law Library are sponsoring the “Everything You Want To Know About Grants.Gov” workshop for IIT faculty and staff at noon on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in the Galvin Library Learning Center located on the lower level of Galvin Library and the IIT Chicago-Kent Law Library located in the Boardroom (Room 800) on the Downtown Campus.

Federal funding announcements for research opportunities are government documents. This seminar will teach attendees how to access grant documents quickly and efficiently. is the federal government’s online portal. All 26 federal grant-making agencies post grant funding opportunities on the portal for applicants to find and apply for those opportunities. Faculty should become familiar with how to find funding opportunities that match interests and how to apply for those opportunities.

The workshop will include an online webinar (which will be conducted by the officials who manage the website) as well as include staff from the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Office of Research Compliance and Proposal Development, the Galvin Library and IIT Chicago-Kent Law Library who will answer any questions.

Department heads are encouraged to have staff members attend so they can help faculty search for research funding opportunities.
