Read on Spring Break: Books to Talk About

Plan to engage in a lively discussion at Paul V. Galvin Library in celebration of both Women’s History Month and the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf. Dreams of Trespass: Tales of a Harem Girlhood by Fatima Mernissi and The Butterfly Mosque: A Young American Woman’s Journey to Love and Islam by G. Willow Wilson are the books that will be featured. One reflects the life of a girl born in Morocco in the 1940s, while the other is a recent account of a young woman’s conversion and travels.

Read one, read both! IIT faculty, students and staff are invited to attend this event, which will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 pm. All readers and comments are welcome. Use your I-Share or MyILL library account to secure a copy of the books or stop by Galvin Library where limited copies are available at the circulation desk. Light refreshments will be served. Find more details at Facebook.com/GalvinLibraryIIT.

This event reflects the values expressed in IIT’s Diversity Statement and is intended to promote diversity at IIT.
