As our world becomes more diverse and divergent, the probability of interacting with people who are quite different from ourselves is a reality we must accept. Our world view is shaped based on past experiences and what we have (and have not) been exposed to. It is when we are confronted by someone who is different from us that we may often find ourselves feeling uncomfortable.
As future leaders it is important to develop more comfort with what is uncomfortable. The best and most effective leaders are those that create an environment where everyone can do their highest quality work by being comfortable with who they are.
The Inclusive Leadership Workshop is a highly engaging and interactive learning experience. Participants will learn how his or her conduct has a profound impact on the quality of relationships they wish to foster. They will also learn how to create constructive and inclusive work environments for everyone.
Upon completing the program, participants will be able to:
• Build a shared understanding of what “diversity” and “inclusiveness” mean within the context of leadership
• Share information about personal cultural background and impactful experiences to educate others and build bridges of understanding, respect and valuing between cultures
• Identify and illustrate how exclusive behaviors impact morale and productivity
• Proactively address unconscious bias, building strategies to minimize the impact of unconscious bias on decision-making
