The Human Library is an event that aims to start conversations about stigma, prejudice, and discrimination. The “books” are people of all walks of life with unique experiences of stereotypes and prejudice. Our “books” volunteer to share their stories and start a conversation with community members, or “readers.” Sharing our stories can be a powerful way to highlight what we have in common and explore the challenges unique to each label and stereotype.
Check out the Human Library Chicago website here.
If you have a story to share, consider volunteering to serve as a book and fill out this form to indicate your interest by Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
This event reflects the values expressed in IIT’s Diversity Statement and is intended to promote diversity at IIT.
