IIT community members are encouraged to share the below invitation with any Chicago-area colleagues who may be interested in sharing their professional paths with outstanding high school students.

Calling all Chicago professionals! Please consider joining us on Thursday, July 12, 1:30-3 pm, to share your professional experience with 100 high-achieving, diverse high school students!

The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Boeing Scholars Academy will host a Career Exploration Fair to provide our 100 high-achieving high school students (rising juniors and seniors) the opportunity to identify career interests and meet dedicated professionals like you! For this event, we will set you up at tables in IIT’s Hermann Hall (3241 S. Federal, Chicago) and scholars will circulate to ask questions about your professional path and pick up any handouts you may wish to provide. Our program primarily focuses on exposure to majors and careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), but we welcome professionals of various backgrounds to join us on this day!

Why participate? The IIT Boeing Scholars are bright, motivated, and curious young people who were selected for participation in our program because of their outstanding commitment to academics, promise as future leaders, and vision for positively impacting their communities and the world through STEM fields. Approximately half of our scholars will be the first in their families to attend college and, while this Career Exploration Fair is being held in service of all of our scholars, we anticipate that these students will especially benefit from the experience. By volunteering for this event, you not only encourage outstanding high school students along the path to careers, you demonstrate a commitment to supporting the development of Chicago’s youth and the city as a whole.
