Beginning Friday, November 20, 2015, Illinois Institute of Technology students are welcome to cross-register in Shimer College classes for the spring 2016 semester.
Shimer classes are small (12 students or less) and feature student-led seminar-style discussions over primary texts from the Great Books of Western Thought. There are many different course options to choose from that will fulfill your Humanities and Social Sciences elective credits. From Homer and Plato to T.S. Eliot and Heidegger, read about the development of the western mind.
Spring 2016 course offerings and descriptions can be found in the 2016 Spring Schedule Publication.
Registration will begin on November 20, but to begin the process, view instructions on how to cross-register on page 16 of the following link: 2016 Spring Schedule Publication.
Students with questions related to Shimer’s courses, or style of learning, may contact the registrar’s assistant at firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions regarding registration should be addressed to Registrar Jim Ulrich at email@example.com. Or visit Shimer at 3424 S. State Street, second floor.
