SoReMo Accepting Spring 2026 Fellows Applications

The application form for spring 2026 SoReMo fellows is now open. Go to the SoReMo website and click on “proposal form.” Applications are open to all Illinois Tech students who are interested in conducting a semester-long research project with a stipend.

Deadline: Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 1 p.m.

This form has more than one page, and just FYI here is the overview of what’s inside.

What is needed for this application form:

  • To submit your application, you will be writing an essay project proposal, approximately 1-2 pages in length. Check out the information on how to write a good proposal.
    • Team fellowship information page: Each team will submit one project pitch; however, each team member must submit this application form.
    • Associate fellowship information page: Not sure what project to propose, but you’re eager to help and get involved? Apply to be an Associate Fellow! In this apprenticeship program you will learn how to work on the project, and hone your presentation and communication skills, and still act as a Fellow doing all the things described above, with one difference: you will not take the lead in defining and designing the project. See “What does a Fellow do?”
  • You will also be asked to list relevant experience and skills in the form.
  • Your application may be improved by including up to two (2) letters of recommendation. At least one (1) is required. You will be asking for a recommendation letter to be sent to SoReMo faculty.
    • If you have written a successful LOI during this application cycle, you are advised to share your proposal and our comments with a faculty member whose interests or expertise match your project. They should comment about their interest in being available as your touchpoint during the semester, at least to offer a perspective once or twice during your progress reports. Such involvement will help make your project succeed!
