Spring Break School Visit: Inspiring Young Minds

For the past two consecutive years during IIT’s annual spring break, students from all majors have come together to speak to elementary and high school students about staying on track for college. Tanya Cabrera, associate director of minority outreach and undocumented student liaison, is coordinating a visit with seventh- and eighth-graders from Burr Elementary (at North and Ashland avenues in Chicago) to inspire young minds about early preparation and career options.

A 9:00 am breakfast (optional) is planned, followed by a 30-minute presentation. That’s just one hour and 30 minutes out of your spring break—just enough time to make a difference and change the course of a young boy’s or girl’s life.

Please contact Cabrera directly at 312.919.9411 for more details and your availability.

This event reflects the values expressed in IIT’s Diversity Statement and is intended to promote diversity at IIT.
