St. Baldrick’s Event a Success

Illinois Institute of Technology’s College Against Cancer hosted their annual St. Baldrick’s event on March 5 in The Bog in Hermann Hall. College Against Cancer is a student organization that helps create awareness, support and donate to a variety of foundations supporting cancer research.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a charity that raises money to find cures for childhood cancers and help survivors live healthy lives. Students at Illinois Tech have been fundraising for months in the anticipation of shaving their heads to help donate and create awareness for childhood cancer.

Previously, the students at the university raised over $5000 during the St. Baldrick’s event. This year, College Against Cancer hosted a very successful St. Balrdick’s where fifteen students shaved their heads. Some were able to donate to Locks of Love and raised $8,476.
