Now is the time to nominate yourself or a colleague for the Staff Council!
Service on the council is a great opportunity for staff that are interested in further developing their understanding of university operations and/or developing other skills (e.g., communication, collaboration, presenting, leadership) outside of their regular role. Serving on the Staff Council can also increase visibility and expand your internal Illinois Tech network.
Use this form to submit a nomination. The nomination deadline for new members is Monday, March 28, 2022. Note that the text you provide in your nomination form may be made public as part of a balloted election process in April. Potential members will serve a two-year term (June 1, 2022–May 31, 2024), and potential members should be prepared to participate in the following meetings:
- Staff Council General Meeting
- Staff Council Meeting with the President and Provost
- Staff Council Committee Meeting (Bi-weekly Meetings May Be Set Up Leading Into Events)
Additional time may be committed to special topics meetings and to develop and/or execute council activities. Council membership is voluntary, and members will not receive compensation for serving in these positions.
The nominee’s supervisor must approve of participation in the Staff Council. To be eligible to serve on the council, the nominee must have been employed with Illinois Tech as a staff member for at least one year as of June 1, 2022.
