On Friday, October 5 a German delegation that includes State Minister of Culture of Saxony Rainer Robra and Bauhaus Dessau Director Claudia Perren will visit Mies Campus. They will tour the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship to review the new Institute of Design space at the facility and visit S. R. Crown Hall where Perren will present a lecture. This will mark the third time in less than two years that the German government and Bauhaus officials have visited Illinois Tech. The College of Architecture and the Institute of Design are preparing for a range of programming during 2019 to highlight and build on Illinois Tech’s important historic and present role in continuing the Bauhaus legacy in Chicago, the U.S. and worldwide.
