STEP Cohort Recognized at University Update

At the university update on October 11, President Alan W. Cramb recognized the accomplishments of STEP participants. STEP, the Supervisor Training and Education Program, was launched in 2016 to enhance the development of Illinois Tech’s managers and better prepare them for career opportunities. The 18-month program addresses leadership principles, employment law, and best practices in management among other topics.   The cohort is also tasked with a capstone project, identifying a university-wide issue and creating a solution to address it.

During the university update, the cohort of 11 received certificates of accomplishment, praise from President Cramb and all assembled for the event.  Those recognized include:

  • Alex Carlson
  • Anita Opdycke
  • Christopher Perry
  • Elizabth Wahlstrom-Helgren
  • Jeffrey Wat
  • Josh Siegel
  • Kevin Gallagher
  • Nicole Vilches
  • Rachel Dean
  • Tara Butterfield
  • Timothy Lipman

Their capstone project, DEAL, Developing and Equipping All to Lead targets professional development opportunities for all staff and faculty. DEAL will be introduced in 2018. Learn more about DEAL in the coming months by visiting the HR Portal.
