Stuart Team Places First in 2019 CFA Institute Research Challenge at the Local Level

The Stuart School team has won first place in the Chicago local round of the 2019 CFA Institute Research Challenge, an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis.

The student team includes Ajinkya Shrikhande, Surbhi Singh, Aiman Moizuddin, Trishala Shetty, Surabhi Sutaria and the team advisor is Michael Rybak, Senior Lecturer of Finance. Seventeen Chicago-area universities submitted reports, and the Stuart team’s score moved them to the presentation round where they competed with teams from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northern Illinois University, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Loyola University Chicago, Northeastern Illinois University, and several others. 

The Stuart team now moves on to compete in the Americas Regional competition in New York on April 23-24. The winners of that round will then compete in the Global Final on April 25 which will also take place in New York. Teams from Stuart have won the Chicago local round of the challenge seven out of the last eight years.
