Students, Faculty, and Staff: Help Save a Life at the Illinois Tech Blood Drive

Blood donors save lives. Be a lifesaver and sign up for the Illinois Tech Blood Drive on Thursday, January 11 from noon–4 p.m. in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Ballroom.

Schedule your preferred donation time. Our collection goal is 31.

Did you know?

  • Blood donation is a simple four-step process: registration, medical history and mini-physical, donation, and refreshments.
  • The actual blood donation typically takes less than 10-12 minutes. The entire process, from the time you arrive to the time you leave, takes about an hour.
  • Although an estimated 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, less than 10% actually do so each year. This is why shortages occur.
  • Red blood cells (the most commonly transfused component) only last 42 days.
  • The average red blood cell transfusion is approximately three pints.
