Take Precautions: Record Breaking Temperatures Expected Today

Due to the high temperatures that are expected to break records today, the National Weather Service has issued a local weather alert.

Hot weather, especially when combined with high humidity, can pose serious harm to your health. Extremely high temperatures can be particularly hazardous for children, the elderly, and those with special needs and pets. The City of Chicago offers a number of important safety precautions that can be found here.

If you or someone you know needs immediate assistance, call IIT Public Safety at 312.808.6363 or 911.

The hot weather serves as another reminder to turn off lights, computers and other equipment when not in use.
