Tau Beta Pi has invited guest speaker Steven Kleinman to deliver a presentation on “The Refining Business Environment” on Wednesday, November 30 from 12:40–1:50 p.m. in the John T. Rettaliata Engineering Center Auditorium.

Before recently retiring from UOP, a Honeywell Company, Kleinman was the senior manager of the Customer Training Services group, responsible for developing, selling and delivering training solutions to UOP’s global customer base in Des Plaines, Illinois and worldwide.. Prior to that assignment, he was a project manager for multiple refinery product and crude scheduling applications in the U.S., Australia, Europe, and Asia- first at Amoco Oil, BP, and then UOP. While at Amoco, Kleinman also worked on project in Fluid Catalytic Cracking and Artificial Intelligence. Kleinman is a proud member of Tau Beta Pi, Florida Alpha Chapter. His talk will provide an understanding of the factors effecting the profitability of the refining industry – from crude selection through gasoline production.
