Jennifer Kang-Mieler, associate professor of biomedical engineering, was recently named a Trustee Member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), representing the Retina (RE) section. As a trustee, she will serve a five-year term and be involved in policymaking and strategic direction for ARVO.
ARVO is the largest and most respected eye and vision research organization in the world. Their mission is to advance research worldwide into understanding the visual system and preventing, treating and curing its disorders. The Retina section is the largest section of ARVO and represents both clinical, basic and translational scientists and clinicians.
