The IIT Department of Social Sciences and the European Union Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign presents “History of the European Union and Challenges to Its Future: The Euro Crisis” at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 27 in Hermann Hall Auditorium.

Presenter Mark Pituch is the academic program officer at the Delegation of the European Union to the United States in Washington, D.C. His talk will focus on the the history of European integration, the current euro crisis, and the fiery resistance of the PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, and Spain) to adopting economic austerity measures.
