Thursday, August 25: Kaplan Institute Groundbreaking

In just a few short days, we’ll be breaking ground and inspiriting innovation. Join us for the groundbreaking of the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship on Thursday, August 25 at noon in the area north of Hermann Hall.

Help us mark this milestone occasion by painting the campus red—wear your favorite red Illinois Tech gear to join the celebration. If you don’t have Illinois Tech gear, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. Institutional Advancement has a limited number of t-shirts for those who didn’t receive a complimentary shirt at least year’s Spirit Day. Bring your ID and head to the 17th floor of the IIT Tower Monday, August 22 through Wednesday, August 24 between the hours of noon–4:30 p.m.. One shirt per person will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following the groundbreaking, we’ll move the party to Man on a Bench Park for a carnival-style reception featuring live music from WIIT, inflatables, and lots of fun you won’t want to miss.

If you can’t make it in person, follow along virtually. Watch the livestream online or from the televisions in Life Sciences, John T. Rettaliata Engineering Center, or The McCormick Tribune Campus Center. For an even more unique online experience, download the Vamonde app for free from the iTunes Store for additional photos, videos, and sneak peeks into the Kaplan Institute.
