TIAA, one of Illinois Tech’s 403(b) Retirement Plan vendors, has announced several educational webinars running from August 11-13.  Sessions are listed below, and are open to all retirement plan participants regardless of the vendor with which they invest. August Live Webinar Lineup:

  • Social Security basics for Married Couples – August 11, 11 a.m.: Married couples can take advantage of some strategies that may help to increase lifetime Social Security benefits. You can learn the basics about spousal benefits, understand the many variables involved in claiming strategies and how married couples can boost their benefits by coordinating the timing of their claims.

  • 2020 Investment outlook – post coronavirus recovery – August 11, 2 p.m.: Join us for a special webinar discussing how the corona-virus health crisis has effected the investment landscape and economic recovery.

  • Money at Work 2: Sharpening Investment Skills – August 12, 11 a.m.: Feel more secure in your savings strategy by verifying you’re on the right track. And if you’re off track, know what adjustments you need to make. Learn how to plan your investments and hold on to as much of your nest egg as possible.

  • Retiring in the new Normal – August 12, 2 p.m.: We all know how important it is to save for retirement. This presentation brings all of the risks to light so you have a better understanding of what you may be facing and what you can do about it, especially in this new environment. Namely, shifting your strategy from just growing your money to protecting what you’ve saved as it grows. And for those still working, we’ll talk about protecting your income in retirement, by creating a personal pension to help cover essential expenses and next steps you can take to help protect your retirement future.

  • Financial housekeeping for now and later – August 13, 11 a.m.: For many, the current health crisis has resulted in unique financial challenges. From dealing with reduced income to trying to figure out what to do with money you usually spend on gas or a vacation, this webinar will explore ways to help deal with a new personal financial landscape.

  • Postcards from the Future – A woman’s guide to financially ever after – August 13, 2 p.m.: Fewer years in the workforce. Longer life spans. Women saving for retirement face unique challenges. You can learn what it takes to overcome these challenges and help make your retirement dreams come true on schedule.
