IIT Architecture Cloud Studios Lunch Talks Features Alexander Eisenschmidt Who Will Discuss “Chicagoisms”

IIT Architecture Cloud Studios Lunch Talks will feature Alexander Eisenschmidt who will explore “Chicagoisms.” Eisenschmidt will discuss his research, writing, publications, and exhibitions which investigate the productive tension between the modern city and architectural form at 12:45 pm on Friday, October 25, 2013 in S.R. Crown Hall, Lower East Core. Students are welcome.

Eisenschmidt is the founder and partner of Studio Offshore, as well as a designer, theorist, curator, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, he is the editor of City Catalyst (Architectural Design, 2012) and the lead-editor of Chicagoisms (Scheidegger & Spiess / Park Books, 2013), a recent publication about the city’s influence on the architectural discourse. Eisenschmidt also was the designer and curator of City Works, a collaborative exhibition at the 13th International Architecture Biennale in Venice (2012) to which he also contributed a 100-foot long drawing.
