The Office of Technology Services (OTS) has heard from many of our community members that Google Meet is being added to all meetings as the default video-conferencing selection.

We understand your concerns and therefore we will be turning off the default video-conferencing selection in the Google Calendar beginning Friday, March 8, 2024.

By changing the system’s default behavior, video conferencing will no longer be automatically added when scheduling meetings with either internal or external users. After March 8, you will need to actively select Google Meet or Zoom for your video conferencing.
