Update: Three Architecture Students Have Work Displayed at Lubeznik Center for the Arts

“Cash Your Vote” for your favorite design!

Finalist donation boxes designed and built by IIT students Adam Weissert, Marina Khakhayeva and Maria Savrasova.

In a unique partnership with the Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA), IIT College of Architecture students designed and built donation boxes that have been displayed at the center this summer as part of Paul Pettigrew’s IIT Architecture & Furniture project to help raise funds for the center. The three projects that made the final cut for the exhibition were conceived by Adam Weissert, Marina Khakhayeva and Maria Savrasova.

The exhibition is ongoing and patrons are welcome to visit the center to vote for their favorite IIT box by depositing a donation. CarolAnn Brown, LCA exhibitions curator, says the response has been terrific.

“Our visitors really do take time to investigate and read the project narratives, and ‘cash their votes,’ she says. “I want to thank Paul Pettigrew for his time and execution of this most important project to the center. While I can’t say who will ultimately be the top pick, it does look like Marina is in the lead, with the most interactive [box]!”
