Virtual Career Fairs to Be Held February 8 and 9

Illinois Tech’s Spring 2023 Virtual Career Fairs will be held on February 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the Handshake Virtual Platform.

The fair will be conducted in a ‘mini-interview’ format where scheduled discussions between students and employers will take place throughout the day. Employers will have discretion over their schedule to build in breaks throughout the day.

We are excited to have a wide variety of great companies in attendance seeking students and alumni for internships and full-time positions.

A career fair is an opportunity for you to present yourself professionally virtually to a potential employer while showcasing your communication skills. The keys to a successful job fair experience are preparation and follow-up. Here is a checklist to help you get prepared!

  • Set up your profile on Handshake and register for the fair
  • Research the list of participating employers through Handshake
  • Get your resume reviewed (see below for hours)
  • Prepare a brief introduction to employers
  • Think about some thoughtful questions to ask the employers you are interested in interacting with
  • Dress professionally and ensure you have a space that will allow you to video chat with employers uninterrupted
