Want to Learn More About How to Optimize the Hybrid-Technology Classrooms for Your Students?

Office of Technology Services’ (OTS) staff are available to provide you with hybrid-classroom AV training either individually or in a group setting, such as a departmental meeting, for example.

In the training sessions we will discuss:

  • Classroom setup – How to prepare your room for the best lighting and whiteboard experience.
  • Full hybrid setup for Mac and Windows users – How to install the necessary drivers needed to operate the document camera and monitor; how to interface your Mac or Windows device using Air Media (wireless) or the HDMI cable provided at the instructor’s desk; how to use the “Hovercam” document camera; and how to interface with web conferencing tools such as Blackboard Ultra Collaborate, Zoom, and Google Meet.
  • Maneuvering the AV controls using the Crestron touch screen – How to power on/off the classroom AV system; how to select the video tools available in all classrooms; how to use the room-camera presets and manual control to position the room camera on the whiteboard; and how to control the projector and projector screen.

Moreover, if you have any questions regarding the hybrid-classroom technology that are not covered here, just let OTS know and we’ll design a training session around your needs.

If you are interested in setting up either an individual or group training session, please contact John Kazibut at kazibut@iit.edu to schedule a good day, time, and location to best suit your needs.

Finally, if attending a meeting will not fit into your schedule or if you would just like a refresher, OTS invites you to access this helpful information via the short, training videos located in the “Videos” section of the Classroom Technologies webpage.
