IIT Institute of Design (ID) invites 2020 Latham fellow Adrien Segal, data sculptor and adjunct professor of design at California College of the Arts, to lecture on this year’s theme of data and design. Adrien will discuss how she starts with data as a conceptual basis and incorporates scientific research, digital technology, material culture, and perception to manifest information into physical form. By translating data into physical forms, experience becomes the means by which information is communicated. Adrien believes information becomes knowledge through experience—a direct sensory perception of the tangible world around us. Adrien’s presentation will be followed by a Q+A moderated by ID faculty member Zach Pino.
