WISER Director Presents Plenary Address at International Fluidization Conference

cfb.jpgHamid Arastoopour, Henry R. Linden Professor of Engineering and Director of IIT’s Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research, presented a plenary address at the 11th International Conference on Fluidized Bed Technology (CFB-11) which was held May 14-17 in Beijing, China.

The conference was designed to address both fundamental and applied aspects of circulating fluidized beds and fluidized bed systems. Arastoopour’s lecture titled, CFD Modeling of CFB: From Kinetic Theory to Turbulence, Heat Transfer, and Poly-Dispersed Systems, was based on a paper he co-authored with Dimitri Gidaspow, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the IIT Chemical and Biological Engineering Department.
