Women’s Soccer Falls on Last Second Goal

Illinois Tech Women’s Soccer faced Indiana Tech on Saturday, August 25 at Stuart Field. The Scarlet Hawks battled back from an early deficit to tie Indiana Tech at 1-1, but conceded a goal with 50 seconds remaining in the 2-1 decision.

Indiana Tech didn’t allow the fans to settle into their seats as they scored in the 3rd minute of the contest. The Scarlet Hawks didn’t allow the goal to rattle them as they hung in and went into the halftime stanza down 1-0.

Veronica Torres leveled the scores with a nice solo effort in the 75th minute. The score would remain tied until Indiana Tech’s Jess Stanton scored the game winner.

Illinois Tech goalkeeper Amy Arnhart had 9 saves on the day including two spectacular stops.

The Hawks will be back in action on Sunday at they host Saint Mary’s College at 12 pm CST.
