Women’s Soccer Opens NACC Play with Fifth Straight Win

The Illinois Tech Women’s Soccer team opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play against the Aurora University Spartans on September 19, winning its fifth straight game this season.

How it Happened

  • After a shot by Katie Hoefgen in the seventh minute missed wide, she took a pass from Delseith seven minutes later and used it to score her eighth goal of the season.
  • In the 54th minute, Delseith opened the scoring in the second half after a cross to the front of the box from Julia Taliana.
  • While the Scarlet Hawks earned some corner kick opportunities down the stretch of the first half and early in the second half, it was a free kick chance that resulted in the team’s final goal. After an Aurora foul, Taliana scored her third goal of 2018 to build the Scarlet Hawk lead to 3-0.
