On January 11 the IRS released updated tax withholding tables for 2018 in response to the recent Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 with the requirement that the 2018 withholding calculation should be implemented by Thursday, February 15.

Illinois Tech has updated its payroll system to reflect the new 2018 withholding rates. The new rates will be reflected in the first monthly payroll paid on Wednesday, January 31 and the first bi-weekly payroll paid on Friday, February 2.

Because the 2018 income tax withholding tables have been designed to work with the employees’ existing W4 form, there is no requirement at this time for employees to furnish a new W4.
