Campus Telephones Will Be Affected by Technology Maintenance Work on October 7

On Saturday, October 7 during the regular maintenance window of the Office of Technology Service (OTS), campus telephones on the Mies Campus and the Downtown Campus (Stuart School of Business and Institute of Design only) will be impacted.

Specifically, on October 7 from 4–6 a.m., all campus telephones on the above-referenced campuses will be down and unavailable for use. This is due to maintenance work being done in Perlstein Hall to deploy an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to protect telecom and network equipment from power outages.

Please note that this particular maintenance work will also impact other important services, such as wireless service on Mies Campus, which will have intermittent outages, and completely unavailable wired and wireless network access in: Perlstein Hall; Alumni Memorial; Paul V. Galvin Library; Main Building; Machinery Hall; VanderCook College of Music Buildings 1 and 2; Facilities Building; North Substation; and on the entire Downtown Campus.

In the event you wish to contact Public Safety, call 911, or make any other calls from 4–6 a.m on October 7, please remember you must use your own cellular phone. To contact Public Safety during this time, please call 312.907.1673.

Your patience and cooperation are appreciated.
