April 7, 2026The Illinois Tech community is invited to the 2026 Ralph Peck Lecture on Thursday, April 23, at 3:15–4:30 p.m. in the Perlstein Hall Auditorium (room 131). Victor M. Zavala, Baldovin-DaPra Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, will present the lecture, titled “From Molecules to Supply Chains: Transforming Data to Decisions Using Geometry, Optimization, and Machine Learning.” -

March 24, 2026The Department of Applied Mathematics at Illinois Tech is proud to host the 16th annual Remembering Karl Menger Celebration April 13–14, at the university’s Mies Campus in Chicago. Featured lecturer Xunyu Zhou, the Liu Family Professor of Financial Engineering and director of the Nie Center for Intelligent Asset Management at Columbia University, will speak beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 13. His talk is titled "Model-Based and Model-Free: A Tale of Two Paradigms Told from Reinforcement Learning and Generative AI." -

Participate and Support Fellow Illinois Tech Researcher in a Study Design Workshop
March 17, 2026Something new and interesting is happening at Illinois Tech: a Local Design Studio! The TRIO Local Studio at Illinois Tech paves the way for researchers—including assistants, coordinators, managers and principal investigators (PIs)—to come together, discuss successes and share solutions to challenges in recruitment and retention of study participants. The first studio will be held Tuesday, April 7, at 12:45–1:45 p.m. in Galvin Tower and will feature Dr. Arryn Guy on the topic of Trans Led Care Study surrounding peer groups and substance use challenges. -
