Presentation on Honest Open Proud (HOP): a Program Developed by Distinguished Professor of Psychology Patrick Corrigan to Erase Stigma Toward Mental Illness

Join Psi Chi and Lewis College of Human Sciences Distinguished Professor of Psychology Patrick Corrigan for Coming Out Proud to Erase the Stigma of Mental Illness on Monday, October 24 from 12:45–1:45 p.m. in the Robert A. Pritzker Science Center (Room TBA).

This presentation will discuss the stigma of mental illness, how it can be addressed, public and self-stigma, and methods of reducing stigma, including contact and disclosure. Presenters will also go into detail about the anti-stigma program developed by Corrigan and the adaptation developed by Lewis undergraduate Maya Al-Khouja. After the presentation, interactive exercises from the program will be demonstrated with the audience.
