Architecture Undergrad Taylor Lilly Wins Gilman Scholarship for Study in Beijing

Congratulations to Taylor Lilly, a third year architecture major, on earning the Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad!

Taylor plans to spend 10 weeks this summer in Beijing, learning Mandarin. As part of his intensive language program through IES, he will have the opportunity to meet and practice his language skills with Chinese students and take field trips to Mt. Wutai and Mongolia. Taylor looks forward to being able to improve his language skills, which will help him stand out in the job hunt.

The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go by supporting undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. If you are interested in applying for this scholarship for your study abroad program, please visit the Gilman Scholarship website.

If you are interested in studying abroad, please contact Ashley Sinclair at Ashley.Sinclair@iit.edu to discuss programs that fit in your major as well as possible funding opportunities.
