FDSN Seminar Series: Overview of B2B Industry and Role of Technical Service Scientist in Growing the B2B Business

The Department of Food Science and Nutrition presents its fall 2023 seminar series featuring guest speaker Neeraj Kamath, associate principal technical service scientist in the dairy category and certified food scientist at Tate & Lyle, who will give a presentation on “Overview of Business-to-Business (B2B) Industry and Role of Technical Service Scientist in Growing the B2B Business.” This seminar is open to the public and will take place in person in the Robert Pritzker Building (room 111 auditorium) from 12:45–1:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 21.

Discussion on details about B2B industry; how different it is from consumer-packaged goods (CPG); why technical service scientists are important in maintaining customer relationships; troubleshooting; collaborating with cross functions such as sales, marketing, innovation, etc.; and eventually growing the B2B business.

Bio:

Neeraj Kamath is a Associate Principal  Technical Service Scientist in Dairy category and Certified Food Scientist, working at Tate & Lyle  a speciality ingredients company based out of Sycamore, IL. Prior to this role, Neeraj had opportunity to work at T&L Singapore facility on a 2-year international assignment and at T&L Hoffman Estates, IL in Beverage Applications. He holds Bachelor and Master’s degree in Food Engineering and has over 8 years of work experience in Food Industry in manufacturing and R&D fields. He also serves as a board representative on Chicago Section IFT committee and as advisor to GROW Ag-funder based out of Singapore. Neeraj’s passion is to get involved in various food related volunteering activities such as advising food start-ups, career guidance to students and mentoring new professionals. Neeraj is highly active on professional networks such as LinkedIn and IFT and believes in the art of good networking.
