IIT Architecture at Venice Biennale

Three faculty members from IIT Architecture Chicago—Marshall Brown, Sofia von Ellrichshausen, Mauricio Pezo—are participating at the Venice Biennale.

Sofia von Ellrichshausen and Mauricio Pezo’s installation is located at the very epicenter of the Giardini. It is an independent structure composed by many open spaces with more than 3,500 square feet. The installation is part of the 15th Architecture International Exhibition curated by Alejandro Aravena.

Marshall Brown’s installation is part of the U.S.Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. It is part of “The Architectural Imagination,” an exhibition of new speculative architectural projects designed for specific sites in Detroit but with far-reaching applications for cities around the world.
