IIT Build-it Competition: An Impromptu Design Competition for Chicago High Schools

IIT will hold the first ever IIT Build-It Competition: An Impromptu Design Competition, from 8:30 am – 3 pm on Saturday, April 6. Build-It is an applied science competition where teams of high school students compete against each other to design and build the best solution to an engineering problem using the materials provided.

The competition is open to all high schools in Chicago and it requires no preparation prior to the competition day. Each school will be allowed to bring a maximum of two teams of five (or less) students each. There is no registration fee and lunch will be complementary for our guests. Prizes will be given to the top three teams.

Please encourage high school teachers to register their student teams on the IIT Build-It Competition website.

Note that seating is limited to the first 15 teams whose registration forms are received by 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 30. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Luis Larco at llarco@iit.edu.

This event is sponsored by Armour College of Engineering, Tau Beta Pi – Illinois Beta Chapter, and the Office of Student Access, Success and Diversity Initiatives.
