IIT Innovation Center Parametric Design Competition

Inspired by IIT’s recently announced plans to build a new ‘Innovation Center’ on campus, architecture faculty Alphonso Peluso & John Manaves held the IIT Innovation Center Parametric Design Competition in fall 2012.  Students in Arch 427 – Advanced Architectural Computing used the methods, concepts & skill sets covered in the course to develop a parametric design for the new IIT innovation center.

Students were encouraged to meet the university’s vision by designing an iconic, innovative and bold building that represents the future of IIT.  The center is planned to be a hub for interdisciplinary education where faculty, students, business and industry develop and exchange ideas. Designs are conceptual with a focus on the overall exterior massing, structure and building skin.

More information about the competition, sponsored by Robert Babbin, is available here.
