Important Apple Security Update

The Office of Technology Services would like to advise you of Apple’s recently released suite of updates for iOS, macOS, and watchOS to fix a number of security vulnerabilities. If you are currently using an Apple product, i.e., MacBook, iPhone, iPad, iPod, and/or Apple watch, it is strongly recommended that you update its software as soon as possible.

You can update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to the latest iOS 14.8/iPadOS 14.8 software by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and following the on-screen instructions.

You can update your Apple Watch to watchOS 7.6.2 either via the device itself – by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and following the instructions, or through your phone by opening the Watch app and navigating to My Watch > General > Software Update.

The process is similarly straightforward on Mac devices, which you can update by launching Apple Menu and navigating to System Preferences > Software Update.

You may wish to consider adjusting your devices’ settings to perform automatic updates.
