Lifeworks April Features, Smartphone App, and CareNow Programs

Lifeworks, Illinois Tech’s Employee Assistance Program, is featuring Embracing Diversity in their April issue of the Heartbeat Newsletter. This month’s articles and videos include, “Helping Children Embrace Diversity,” “What is Neurodiversity,” and “Thriving in an Inclusive Workplace.” There’s even a live webinar on April 23 at 1pm CST called “How to Be an Inclusive Leader.” (sign up through the Heartbeat newsletter, or visit the newsletter to view a recording following the session). Be sure to check out the Heartbeat Newsletter for more on this month’s features, or to view past months’ topics.

As always, Lifeworks is available 24/7 for free and confidential assistance for Illinois Tech Employees and their families. Don’t forget the Lifeworks app, either. It’s available in the Apple App Store and Google Play, and allows you to access Lifeworks’ resources directly through your smartphone!

In addition to free, short term counseling services, Lifeworks offers a variety of work/life balance resources including life coaching, LIFT virtual fitness, and more.

Don’t forget about the new CareNow programs, which allow users to chat with support professionals; take assessments in physical, financial, mental, and social wellbeing; and go through self-directed programs in a variety of areas. As is the case with most other LifeWorks programs, CareNow is free, but requires you to set up an account. To create yours, log in using LifeWorks’ website using IIT’s credentials and click on the CareNow box at the top of the page.
