The Master of Mathematical Finance (MMF) program, a joint program of the Department of Applied Mathematics and the Stuart School of Business, was picked by The Financial Engineer as one of the top financial engineering programs of 2014. The MMF program came in at number 27 on the list which has been named the most comprehensive list for financial engineering, financial mathematics, quantitative finance, computational finance, and mathematical finance programs in the United States.
Each program on the list earned its spot through a scoring system consisting of nine components: undergraduate rankings from U.S. News & World Report for the past five years; graduate school rankings from U.S. News & World Report for the past five years; employment rate at graduation; employment rate three months after graduation; starting salary; student/administrator ratio; GRE scores; undergraduate GPA; and acceptance rate. Final scores were compiled from the weighted average of each of the components’ respective scores.
The MMF program, which was also recently ranked among the top 25 financial programs in the nation by QuantNet, integrates financial economics, theory of mathematical finance, theory of probability and stochastic processes, applied mathematics, computational mathematics and statistics. Through a stimulating and well-rounded curriculum, everyday classroom experiences, and unparalleled networking opportunities, the program prepares graduates to chart their own paths in the global financial market.
