Weekend Dining Update: Expanded Halal and Plant-Based Options at The Commons
September 4, 2025The Global Halal station is open for lunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays. This change comes in response to student feedback and reflects our commitment to clearly communicating the availability of Certified Zabiah Halal hand-slaughtered proteins. In addition, the Rooted station will also be open on weekends, offering a variety of vegetarian and vegan plant-based proteins, including tofu, Beyond Meat, and PAOW! alternatives, and more. Rooted also prioritizes Jain-friendly recipes, which exclude root vegetables.
