MMAE Distinguised Alumni Seminar: Mathieu Joerger on ‘Resilient Positioning, Navigation, and Timing for Safe Transportation’
March 7, 2024The Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering welcomes the 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Mathieu Joerger, assistant professor at Virginia Tech, who will give a presentation on “Resilient Positioning, Navigation, and Timing for Safe Transportation.” This seminar is open to the public and will take place on Friday, March 22, from 3:30–4:30 p.m. in room 104 (auditorium) of the John T. Rettaliata Engineering Center. Departmental awards will immediately follow the seminar. -
2024-2025 Housing Application Now Open
March 5, 2024The Office of Residence Life is pleased to announce the opening of the 2024-2025 Academic Year application for housing. This application is for Illinois Tech students who wish to live in the residence halls for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. Students may find the application in their student portal under “My Apps” by clicking the StarRez Housing Portal icon. Please note that students may be required to make a prepayment during the application process to reserve a room. -

Students who take part in the program can earn a master’s degree and teaching license at National Louis University while you complete your bachelor’s degree at Illinois Tech. March 5, 2024The Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering will host Dan Henningson, professor of fluid mechanics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, for a seminar titled “Large Scale Numerical Experiments of Unsteady Aerodynamic Flows and the Role of Laminar-Turbulent Transition” on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 12:45–1:45 p.m. in room 104 (auditorium) of the John T. Rettaliata Engineering Center. -
MMAE Seminar Series: ‘Go with the Flow: Flow Control Strategies for Unsteady and Uncertain Environments’
March 5, 2024The Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering presents their spring 2024 seminar series featuring guest speaker Girguis Sedky, a postdoctoral research associate in the Bio-inspired Adaptive Morphology lab at Princeton University, who will present, “Go with the Flow: Flow Control Strategies for Unsteady and Uncertain Environments.” This seminar is open to the public and will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 3:30–4:30 p.m. in room 104 of the Rettaliata Engineering Center. -
