Illinois Tech will be upgrading Cognos, the university’s reporting software, from version 10.2.1 to version 11, also known as “Cognos Analytics.”
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) will be hosting a remote demonstration of Cognos 11 by the vendor on Wednesday, September 4 from 1–2:30 p.m. in the second floor of Tech South, Conference Room 2028.
The demonstration will highlight some of the new tools in Cognos 11, such as:
- Dashboards – An ad hoc visualization and analysis studio for analyst-type users;
- Stories – A presentation interface to tell a story via Cognos content;
- Data Modules – An online data-modeling tool that can act as a replacement for some/many of the Framework Manager features, targeted for power users;
- Data Sets – A specialized collection of data for reporting, built off of Framework Manager packages and Data Modules; and
- Explore – An AI experience that allows Watson to make recommendations on insights and visualizations.
There will be a question-and-answer session at the end of the demo.
Space is limited so you may also attend the presentation remotely. If you wish to do so, please see the below-listed information.
