Ryan Gann Elected to American Institute of Architecture Students Board of Directors

Ryan Gann, a fourth year architecture undergraduate has been elected to serve on the 2013-2014 American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) Board of Directors as the Midwest Quadrant Director. Elections took place at the organization’s annual meeting, FORUM, hosted this year by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) chapter of the AIAS in Savannah, Georgia. The annual meeting brings together students of architecture and design from across the country to discuss current issues facing the profession, as well as gathering presidents from over 110 AIAS chapters nationwide to vote on their future leadership.

Gann began his involvement with AIAS his freshman year and has worked the past three years to cultivate the IIT chapter into a vibrant 76 member organization. His focus on relevance to architectural curriculum has brought about many partnerships and events that have enriched the lives of students within the college. Gann also served as a key player in the successful bid for IIT’s chapter to host the annual AIAS FORUM conference in 2013.

“My passion for the AIAS runs deep,” says Gann. “I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve our members and chapters on the 2013-2014 board.”

The position of Quadrant Director entails the liaison with over 35 AIAS chapters in the Midwest region. Gann will be sworn in at the annual Grassroots Leadership Conference this July.
