New students joining Illinois Tech for Spring 2023 should submit their HawkCard ID photo online by Wednesday, December 21, to ensure their HawkCard ID and UPass (Eligible Full-time Students & Optional) is ready for move-in beginning January 3 and the semester UPass effective date of January 6. Additionally, students must be registered full time to have a Ventra UPass card ordered (new students) or activated (returning students).

The HawkCard ID facilitates access to residence halls, meal plans, academic spaces and more. Students are encouraged to prioritize this task to gain timely access to the campus experience. We will continue to accept online photo submissions on an ongoing basis, but they will subject to processing time of up to two business days.

Ventra UPass cards for returning students who opt in to participate for Spring 2023 will be activated effective January 6 or within two business days after the opt-in form is submitted. As a reminder, a new card will not be issued each semester. Your Ventra card is intended to last throughout your program at Illinois Tech, unless a replacement card is required.
