Yang, a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will be honored at 4 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012, in the McCloska Auditorium of The McCormick Tribune Campus Center. Engineering Professor Krishna Pagilla Named 2012 Bill Boyle Educator of the Year
March 7, 2012Environmental Engineering Professor Krishna Pagilla has been named the 2012 Bill Boyle Educator of the Year by the Central States Water Environment Association. This award is given to one educator each year in recognition of outstanding education assistance to students of any level in the study of the water environment. Pagilla will be honored on May 16, 2012 in St. Charles, Ill. at the CSWEA 85th Annual Meeting. -

February 8, 2012Biology and environmental engineering researchers at IIT describe how Vitreoscilla hemoglobin (VHb) can enhance ethanol production in Escherichia coli in a variety of growth media by increasing the oxygen supply in a new article in Biomass and Bioenergy. The work is an important step in research in the production of ethanol from biomass. -

December 8, 2011Electrical and computer engineering undergraduates James Lee, Joel Plunkett, and Devon Summers have been awarded scholarships from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society (PES) through the society's Scholarship Plus Initiative, which provides financial support along with industry internships or coop experience.
