Spring 2026 Schedule for Illinois Tech Responsible Conduct of Research Webinars
January 13, 2026The collaborative workshop “Responsible Research and Building an Ethical Culture” will feature a discussion of ethical issues that arise in their research. This workshop fulfills the NIH/HSF requirements for in-person responsible conduct of research training. For awardees of federal grants, participation in this workshop is required every four years. It is being offered February 20 and March 20, and individual research groups are welcome to schedule a customizable session. -
Call for Submissions for 2nd Sawyier Philosophy Conference on Ethics of Technology: Promises and Perils
September 18, 2025The Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions at Illinois Tech is hosting a conference exploring philosophical, ethical, societal, and legal issues related to technology. We invite submissions addressing topics connected to philosophy and ethics of technology broadly construed from a variety of philosophical areas. Submissions are due by Wednesday, October 1. Register to attend by October 25. -
Survey on the Use of Large Language Models (LLMs) by Educators in Higher Education
February 11, 2025The Ethics Center is part of an international team of researchers that seeks to understand the current usage of Large Language Models by educators in Higher Education. The aim of this survey is to gather data on the integration, benefits, and challenges associated with LLMs in higher education and shed light on the ethical issues and trustworthiness concerns that may arise and how they can be addressed. -
